Kassi's Dance Recital 2009

Made it through another year of dance recital. Kassi had her dance recital today. It was so fun to watch her and she doesn't do too bad for being 5. :-) For the recital she wanted "mermaid hair", so I warmed up the wave iron to give this diva some "mermaid hair" What a cutie. I was so proud of her. Somehow before her dance, someone gave her some gum. She was just chomping away on it on stage and smiling her biggest smile. We had good seats {2nd row}, so she could see me. At the end of her dance, she waves at me and mouths the words. "I got gum in my mouth." I could hear the ladies behind me giggling. They thought it was cute, so I had to turn around and say that one would be mine. The gum smacker. Silly girl, but so cute. She was also so excited to watch all the high school girls dance. They are really good.   Kassi and Mary (Kassi's Big Girl that helped her backstage.)

Here's part of Kassi's dance that I got at her dress rehersal. She's so skinny, at the end you can't see her behind the other girl, but I got her most of the time.

Alligator Park

Since my Mom and Dad were here, we just had to do Lousiana things. We took them to the Alligator Park. It was a lot of fun and as you can see the girls hammed it up for the camera. I think my parents had a good time too. We even got to hold and get our picture with a live alligator too. They got to try a lot of the local cuisine. Alligator, crawfish, and catfish as well. They also lucked out that we had great weather for them. It was perfect warm weather and not hot at all. I think they would have melted in the heat and humidity. :-) We had a great time and it was so good to see them. I'm glad the girls got to spend some time and get to know their grandparents better.

Bailee's Baptism

Bailee was baptized last Friday night. It was so special. Billy baptized her and her Grandpa Hess confirmed her. I was so proud of her for making this decision. She is such a good girl and has such a sweet spirit. I am so proud to be her Momma. She is such a blessing to us. I'm also blessed to have a husband worthy of his priesthood to be able to baptize our sweet little girl. I'm so thankful for Christ's example and sacrifice that we may be able to live with him again.

Kassi was also very excited at Bailee's baptism. She was watching right at the edge of the font and when Bailee went under the water, Kassi jumped up with joy and shouted "WHOO!" I heard people say they thought she was going to jump in. :-) Bailee's friend, Ethan was there too. He was baptized about a month ago. He ran right back when she was out of the font to talk to her. It was so cute to see them both so excited and talk about their experience.

Mudbug Madness!

Mom and Dad came to visit us for the weekend and for Bailee's baptism. It was an all things Louisiana weekend. We took them to Mudbug Madness to eat crawfish.

For some reason, I didn't actually get a picture of us eating any of the crawfish, but it sure was tasty. My fingers must have been too messy.

They had a kids section with inflatable slides and things. Here's the girls coming off the "Tornado Twister".

Kassidy's Pre-School Graduation

Kassidy graduated from Pre-School Thursday night. I can't believe my baby is going to be in Kindergarten now! Time sure does fly. She looked so cute and sang and said her parts very well. I am so proud of her. Love you Kassi Poo!

GLEE!

Ok, This may make me a big nerd, but I loved this new show, GLEE, Fox has lined up for the fall about loser glee club that a teacher wants to make great again. Of course, my girls and I are big fans of High School Musical and Spectacular! We love to sing around the house and karaoke. Maybe I'm secretly hoping to see my girls in high school someday with tremendous talent! Who knows, but it was fun to watch. Even Billy kind of got into their rendition of Journey's classic. DON'T STOP BELIEVIN'! Hope you enjoy! :-)

Bailee's 8th Birthday

Happy 8th Birthday to Bailee! My goodness, I can't believe this child is 8! Where did the time go? I love this little sweetheart so much. I am honored to be her mother. She is such a blessing to our family. It wouldn't be the same without her. Every morning when the school bus is coming up the street, we exchange little good byes like "see ya later alligator", etc. Our latest is, "my life would suck without you" after the Kelly Clarkson song. We laugh, but it's true, my life would suck without her. :-) She had a fun birthday and is getting baptized this Friday! I can't believe it. She's also excited for Grandma and Papa Hess to come this weekend too. Yay! I love you Bailee! I'm so glad that you are mine!
