BIlly's 40th Birthday

Here's a peek of how Billy spent his 40th birthday.

I got up real early and put this embarassing sign in our front yard for all to see!

Of course every old man needs black balloons.

Bailee asked me why I put Rest in Peace on Daddy's cake. I said it was just a joke about getting old. She tells me, Mom. I don't think it is very funny to joke about Daddy dying. She was so serious. I had to turn my head so she didn't see me snicker. Though I did assure her that it was all in fun and Daddy wasn't going to die.

Billy spent most of his birthday with Brandon ripping out the bushes infront of our house. This was his idea everyone. I did not request it.

It was sooo stinkin' hot outside!. I'm surprised those two didn't get heat stroke.

They worked really hard. No more bushes!

Then, Billy got to use the birthday present I gave him, a GPS car navigation system, to find their way to the dump to get rid of all this stuff.

Billy kept telling me he did not want a party, well he was turning 40 and he was getting a party whether he liked it or not. It's special. It's a milestone. For weeks, behind his back I have been scheaming with his buddies and our friends. El Chico was about the only place I could find that would take us on a weekend, so I took it. I had to think of how to get him there because I knew he wouldn't pick it for his Birthday dinner. Things just fell into place when he ran into Mike the morning of his birthday. He was giving him a hard time about the sign I put in the yard and then said hey, let's go out to dinner for your birthday. Billy says okay, have your wife call my wife and set it up. How perfect! I tell him that Melissa is going to pick us up and it's a surprise. He asked me if I knew where and I said no. He's says yeah because they know you can't keep a secret. I had my best poker face. He didn't suspect a thing!

I got him! I got him all the way into the restaurant and I tell the hostess we're there to meet someone and she says, Oh for the Birthday party? Oh, Man! I gave her THE LOOK, but Billy heard her. I just had to get him 5 more feet.

Oh, well. He was still surprised when he turned the corner and saw a bunch of our friends. It was great!

The waiter gave everyone these discount envelopes. A manager had to open them, so Billy and Mike were holding their's up to lights to see if they could see through.

Even our waiter was helping.

Of course it wouldn't be a night without a little drama from Kassi Poo.

Billy was a good sport with the Sombrero. ai,yai, yai! Feliz Compleanos!

The Fam with our "other daughter" Evan.

The fam again without Evan.

Billy blowing out candles. He wouldn't even let me light all of them. I don't think there was 40 on there anyway.

The girls wanted to blow candles out too!
It was a great birthday. Thanks to everyone who came and kept the surprise a secret! Thanks to all who sent him emails too. He really enjoyed hearing from everyone.

40 Years of Billy

I worked on this for awhile and spent hours looking for the right songs and couldn't come up with any,so I just used some stock songs at my montage site. I think they go okay. Anyway, HAPPY BIRTHDAY BILLY! Wow, I can't believe he's 40! He looks good though I have to say. I still think he's a hottie. :-) Honey, I hope you have a great day. I love you. I appreciate all you do for our family. We are very blessed that you are ours. You are amazing and we are your biggest fans. I hope the next 40 are better than the first. Happy Birthday and many more.

Stylin' Dude

As if my poor little doggie wasn't humiliated enough, I bought him a shirt! I know it is lame to dress up your pets, but I was only considering it because the poor thing has been shaking and shivering since I brought him home Wednesday. I guess he is a little cold in the A/C without his hair. The girls and I were at WalMart and this little shirt was on clearance for $2. If it wasn't so cheap I wouldn't have bought it. There were many to choose from, but I liked this one the best. Bailee and Kassi were begging me to get the little Tinkerbell dress. Cute as it was I had to keep a little dignity for Dude. After all, he is still a boy! I'm sure he is thinking his humans have lost their minds. I have to admit that I think the shirt is cute. He doesn't look so naked.

Is that my dog? Poor Dooder!

So,I've been a not so good pet parent to my poor Coton De Tulear, Dude or as we affectionately call him Dooder. He is normally a fluffy long haired dog, but when he blew his baby hair coat, I didn't keep up on him so great and he got really matted. He needed to be fixed as he kept humping my kids and his Lilo and Stitch doll. I figured it would be easiest to get him fixed and his mats shaved off while he was under anesthesia. I had tried to comb him and cut through his mats, but he was just not having it. I took him to the vet this morning and when I picked him up this afternoon I was shocked. This was not the dog I dropped off! I didn't expect them to shave his face and ears. All they left was the plume on his tail. I'm sure the poor thing is humiliated waking up with no nuts and no hair looking like a chihuahua or weiner dog. I didn't realize he was so skinny! I guess this way it will grow out even. I will be glad when he is looking a little fluffier again!

A Young Micheal Phelps????

Since watching Michael Phelps in the Olympics, Billy and I thought that our nephew, Tyler looked like a young Micheal Phelps. May be not exactly, but possibly look related in the very least. What do you think? Take my poll on the side bar. Yes, Tyler I stole your pic off your MySpace!

Second Day of School--We Made It!

All right! We actually made it on the bus without having to chase it down this morning. Of course, to prevent this we were out in the driveway at 7:30. Then, what do you know? The bus doesn't show up until 7:41, which is still earlier than the 7:44 I was told, but later than yesterday. So, we waited in the rain. (Okay it was just sprinkling, but it's the principle of the matter.)But, I got my quality time with my Boo Bear. When she got home from school yesterday she said, we didn't get to do our thing. I told her I thought about that all day too. So, we made sure we got it all the good bye hugs, squeezes, and mantras in this morning. I'm glad I'm still cool enough to do that! I took more pics, not only because she looked cute, but wanted to document her actually getting on the bus. Plus, I learned how to do this cool corkscrew braid.

Crazy Girls Night

I forgot these pics were on my camera. This last Friday, we went out to eat with a few friends and the girls went over to Evan's house and we shared the babysitter. When we got home Kassi and Evan were upset with eachother, but then when I went to take some pictures as you can see they were best friends again. They also were showing Melissa and I how crazy they could be. Goofy girls. Thank you to Heather for putting up with these cuckoo birds for a few hours.

First Day of School

Today we are back to school and we were having a great morning, not rushing. I took pictures and Bai didn't have to wolf down her breakfast. We had plenty of time, so I thought. The bus driver had called me and told me pick up time was at 7:44. We were all ready at 7:30, but were killing time waiting to go out and wait for the bus. I figured we would go out about 7:39. Low and behold, the bus rolls up to the house at about 7:33. Bailee sees it and yells, There's the bus! I scream Aaah! Run! Go, GO! We open the door and the garage door is closed and of course seems like it is going up so slowly. She crawls underneath an opening and is running up the driveway. I have her backpack running behind her. The bus is already leaving. It has to stop up the street two houses up, so we are now running up the street to catch the bus. We must have left the door open because Dooder (our dog) is running up the street with us. We catch the bus and the bus driver closed the door as Bailee is standing right there. I know she had to of seen us running out up our driveway and up the street. It was probably a good thing that Dooder was out barking and running in front of the bus and jumping on some parents or she might have taken off again! Anyway, she opened the door and let Bailee on. I feel bad because I didn't get to send Bailee off on the first day with our ritual of a hug, kiss, Have a great day. I love you. See you later alligator! After awhile crocodile. And I blow a kiss and wave as the bus drives away. Boo Hoo for me. I want to do that as long as I can before she thinks it is not cool to have your Mom out there anymore. I can't believe she is in second grade now! Crazy. Hopefully, we will have a less crazy bus experience tomorrow!

Stitches!

THE VICTIM: BAILEE
Fighting with her sister about who gave who a baby doll.

THE WEAPON:
Yummi-Land Betsy Bubblegum Ice Cream Pop doll display bottle. (See image for sample photo.) This weapon was used to strike the victim at the top left forehead resulting in a 1/4 inch long and deep cut to the victim, resulting in lots of blood and crying!

THE DEFENDENT: KASSI POO TINKER BELL WITH ANGER MANAGEMENT ISSUES.
The defendent apparently did not agree with the victim about who gave the baby doll to who, then at that time struck the victim on the left top forehead with the her weapon of choice, the Betsy Bubblegum bottle with the cap striking the victim's head and drawing blood. The defendent did come out to the judge, Mommy, bawling saying she was sorry.

THE RESULT: TRIP TO ER AND THREE STITCHES!
Got to spend the afternoon in the emergency room. Bailee was very brave and even gets to have her stitches out before school starts on the 18th. She was a little worried about that. Kassi did feel bad, but it didn't last too long. We told her she would have to be Bailee's slave for a week, but it has only been a few hours and she's done with that. That's a diva for you! They haven't fought the rest of the day though, which is nice.

Vacation to Hot Springs, Arkansas

We finally got to get away for a few days. We went up to Hot Springs, Arkansas. I know, I know. I never ever in my life thought of going to Arkansas on vacation, but it was great! It was absolutely beautiful and mountains and lots of trees and there is Hot Springs National Park there too. I don't know what I thought Arkansas would look like, but I really enjoyed it. We took the kids to Magic Spring/Crystal Falls, which is an amusement and water park. It was sooo HOT! We were all melting. We thought we would do roller coasters and rides one day and then do the waterpark the next, but it was so stinkin' hot I went out to the car and got our swim suits. I've never been so sweaty. It was hard to put on our suits because we were already wet with sweat! Gross. Once in the water we were good to go. It felt so much better. Bailee was a little dare devil and went on all the big rides with Billy. I was happy to stay and take Kassi on the little ones. Bailee did get me on a big one and she said, C'mon Mom don't be a pussy-cat. Then she would tell me, it's almost over, it's almost over. Kassi was too short to go on the waterslides, so I did go on those with Bailee. They had a good time there. We also drove into the Park and up to a look out on West Mountain. It was gorgeous and of course I forgot my camera, so no pictures of that. We also went down to the historic Bath House Row, where you can get a special bath and spa treatment in the natural therapuetic hot springs water. There are five or six really neat historic bath house buildings. I think we may try that on the next visit. There is also beautiful Lake Hamilton that we saw too. Of course this is the day I forgot my camera. The kids found our hotel fascinating. They couldn't believe there were maids! Bailee also passed some time reading the Bible from the room. She kept having me find her the stories she knows, so she could read them. She is such a spiritual kid! At least I know one of is is going to make it to the Celestial Kingdom. :-) If you look at those pictures you can see Kassi being crazy in the background. Those two are total opposites. Our last night after dinner, we played some minature golf at a pirate themed place. It was a lot of fun. We are hoping to get back up there in the fall. I bet it is amazing when the leaves change.
