Leo Marquez Award

Here's my handsome hubby with his medal for the Air Force Leo Marquez Award for SNCO (senior non-commissioned officer)Munitions category. The award, named in honor of retired Air Force Lt. Gen. Leo Marquez, recognizes maintenance operations in the categories of Aircraft, Munitions/Missile and Communications-Electronics Maintenance. The award is presented to maintainers who have demonstrated the highest degree of sustained job performance, job efficiency and results, job knowledge, and direct sortie generation involvement.
Billy won for his group and then was a nominee up for the whole wing. I am so proud of him and he's not bad lookin' either. :-) If you look in the background you can see the 2 dozen roses he surprised me with for Valentine's Day! Awww, I know...total brownie points. He is gone all day today...yeah, fishing tournament, so cross your fingers and hope he brings in some $$$! He is also really excited for the BassMaster Classic that is here on the Red River next week. (This is the Super Bowl of Bass fishing.) He and his boat will be a camera boat for ESPN coverage. We were also at Academy Sports last night and got Boyd Duckett's autograph and a picture with the girls (on Billy's phone). Boyd won the Classic 2 years ago. Of course, I had no idea who he was, but Billy sure did! We're busy and having fun...going to the Big Mardi Gras parade today, so I'll post pics tomorrow.

Julie,
Not many of your family may appreciate what your husband has been recognized for but I certainly do. I've given the invocation at hundreds of Air Force Awards ceremonies and I quickly recognized the Leo Marquez Award.
Being a Senior NCO of "AMMO" troops at Barksdale, must be horrendous pressure.
Without "AMMO", the US Air Force would be just another airline.
A big congratulations to you husband. He is obviously the best of the best in a very tough job.
