Train Ride

Last weekend, we were in Ft. Worth picking up Lindsey for her spring break. Saturday, Billy took Lindz to Six Flags and Betty took my sis-in-law, Samantha and her daughter,Kaylee and Me and the girls to ride this little train by the Trinity River, the duck pond, playground and the Ft. Worth Botanical Gardens. We had such a fun day and the girls loved playing together!

It was a little chilly that morning.

Rock out girls!

Sam and I were laughing at these crazy girls. They were shouting "Hello" to all the homeless people in the park, yelled "woo hoo" at a guy running with his shirt off, and waving like they were beauty queens at the jailbirds that were on work detail! AND got reprimended by a train worker because they were standing on a bench at the ticket booth. Man, you just can't take Wilsons anywhere...HA HA!

Easy Tweezy--A bushy problem

Bailee has inherited some wild eyebrows from her Daddy. No, they aren't as bad as that picture...Billy's maybe, but not Bailee. She has been begging me to pluck them and I kept telling her she didn't need to. She's only seven after all.

Last night the begging continued, I was trying to tell her that it kind of hurts and that I would pluck one hair out so she would know how it feels. I thought for sure she would back off after that. Boy, did that back fire for me! She kept wanting me to do it. Don't worry, I didn't go crazy, just got a few stray and unruly ones off her browbone. She's just a little girl, but boy did that make her feel all grown up and pretty. She wouldn't let me take a picture though...she said no, you'll put it on the blog! She was probably right.

Crash and Burn

Yesterday Kassi was helping me make some banana bread. She got a little messy, so I sent her to the bathroom to wash her hands. She loves to help me bake, so she didn't want to miss the next part of the recipe. She ran to the bathroom as fast as she could and slipped on the bathmat and crashed chin down on the hard tile floor! Poor Baby! It hurt and and loved her up and saw she had a scrape on her chin. Then this morning I found this big huge purple/black/blue bruise on her little chin. OUCH! I'm surprised she didn't break her chin bone or something with a bruse like that! Being the diva that she is, she is still super cute even with a bruised up chin.

Kassi and Mommy being crazy

Kassi never wants to go to bed (like her momma), so she always has so much to talk about when I'm trying to tuck her in to stall going to sleep. While listening to her nightly chat, I told her about the ducks that Bailee and I saw in the yard. I brought the camera in so I could show her the pictures of the ducks and we ended up taking some crazy pictures. I sure love this krazy kid.

Mr. & Mrs. Mallard

We have had TONS of rain lately and the drainage ditches in front of the houses have been pretty full. Tuesday, I was leaving to take Bailee to soccer practice and these two ducks were in our ditch just waddling along. Bailee and I decided they were married looking for a semi-dry place to nest.

Bailee's class play and honor roll

Sorry I've been such a slacker in posting! Last week Bailee's class did a play called Pushing Up The Sky. It is a Snohomish Indian tale that is on a totem pole in Everett, WA. Bailee was the narrator. She memorized everything! She is very good at that. Also, this morning she had her honors assembly where she was on the all A's honor roll again! She also got a recognition for making her AR goal, making the 100-point AR club and for reading the most in her class this quarter. She read a total of 62 AR points this quarter! I think her goal was only 25 points. She did above and beyond. We are so proud of her for being such a good student! Way to go Bailee! I took picture, but they are still on my camera and am too lazy to get them off. :-) Kassi is also doing well in school and is reading like crazy. Boy! I'm sure glad that I have such smart kids!

12 Years ago...We got Married!

I've been kind of slow posting lately, just been busy. Well, Sunday the 15th was our 12th Wedding anniversary! I can't believe it's been so long ago because it's gone so fast! I still feel 25 most of the time. :-)What can I say, but I love him more now than I thought I did then. I am proud to be his wife and the mother of his children. It has been an interesting ride and just keep getting better. I love you, honey! We celebrated Friday by just going out to dinner and a movie...we aren't without the kids too often, so that was nice. Good food and a good flick and some much needed alone time. It was fun.

March 13, 2009 Photography credits go to Kassidy, 5 years old. They were so excited that we were going on a "date". They kept teasing, "Mommy and Daddy sitting in a tree...k-i-s-s-i-n-g." But, I think they were more excited to spend the evening at Miss Deborah's and Mr. Brent's house to play a game called "chicken foot". They had a ball. Thank you Merrill's!!

Ears Pierced!

I'm a little slow updating, but last week Kassi got her ears pierced. Yep. She's a big girl now. When she turned five, we were going to get it done for her birthday and never got around to it. Then another day we set out to have it done when we were at the mall, but no one had two people to get it done at the same time and even one place was out of kids earrings. So, we just kind of forgot about it for awhile. Then, I had Kass with me at Walmart and we were just kind of browsing in the jewelry. I then remembered that they did ear piercing. They had two people there and I asked Kassi if she wanted to go for it. Boy, was she excited. She got to pick out which color. (Of course she chose PINK!) She was very brave and didn't even cry. As she said recounting the story several times to everyone. "Not one tear squeezed out of my eye." The lady even gave her a certificate of bravery. I only wished I had had my camera with me. She feels very grown up and can't wait for the Easter Bunny to bring her earrings because she can take them out on Easter and try new ones!
